Some pupils of Sunshine Nursery and Primary School in Ile-Ife, Osun State, have staged a protest in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)’s protracted industrial action.

In a video obtained by Neptune Prime, the pupils, in their tens were on uniforms displaying placards with various inscriptions such as: ‘I am the Future ASUU Don’t forget’, ‘Don’t borrow our future away’, ‘When you stand up for ASUU you stand up for us,’ also the pupils were chanting, “I see ASUU fighting for me.”
The association on February 14, 2022, embarked on an indefinite action to press home their demands.
However, both the leadership of the association and the federal government have held meetings on several occasions but they are yet to find a common ground.
In a move to pile up pressure on the government to yield to ASUU’s demand, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has scheduled July 26 and 27 for a nationwide protest.
