Auto crash: LASEMA confirms death of 2 soldiers, 1 civilian in Lagos

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed the death of two male soldiers and one female civilian who were involved in a motor accident at Obadeyi Bus Stop, Ijaiye, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in the state.

The accident involved a truck and a Mitsubishi saloon car.

According to a statement by the agency, one male adult, who survived the fatal crash, has been moved to the hospital for treatment.

The corpses of the dead victims of the accidents have been bagged while waiting for military pick-up and officials of the State Health Environmental Monitoring Unit (SEHMU), according to LASEMA.

The truck was said to be driving the wrong way when it collided head-on with the Mitsubishi car which had four occupants in it.

“The Agency responded to an accident that occurred between a truck and a Mitsubishi saloon car with reg. no. RNG396AA,” it stated.

“Further investigation revealed that the truck was driving the wrong way and made a head-on collision with a car.

“Unfortunately, out of the four occupants of the car, two male Nig. Army soldiers and one female citizen lost their lives to the fatal crash, while the last male adult was treated by LASAMBUS and taken to the hospital.”
