CAN Chairman, Catholic Priest kidnapped in Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted two Catholic priests in Kaduna State, according to competent security sources.
It was learnt that the two priests, Reverend Father John Cheitnum and Reverend Father Donatus Cleopas were abducted at the Yadin Gura in the Lere local government area of the state.

Although the security agencies are yet to confirm the incident, a statement signed Friday night by the Chancellor of Kafanchan Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo, said that the two priests were kidnapped on Friday, while on their way to a function at the Rectory of Christ the King Catholic Church in Yadin Gura.
He added that Reverend Father Cheitnum is the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Jemaa local government area of Kaduna.
The Chancellor solicited intense prayers for the quick and safe release of the priests.
The bandits are yet to make demands for ransom as of when filing this report.
