Gunmen assassinate Adamawa lawmaker, injure son
In the early hours of Saturday, some unidentified gunmen attacked the residence of the Deputy Leader of Song Local Government Legislative Council in Adamawa State, Honourable Ishaya Bakano, and shot him dead, while injuring his son.

According to a family source, the gunmen also shot his son who is currently receiving treatment at Song hospital.
Reports gathered revealed that the gunmen strategically gain entrance into the lawmaker’s house at Bannga, killed him, and left immediately.
There are speculations that Ishaya was a target of assassination.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, while confirming the incident said security officials are doing their best to arrest the culprits and bring them to justice.
