Mané bags CAF player of the year as Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala wins fifth award

Senegal international, Sadio Mané, has been crowned CAF Africa’s player of the year award in the men’s category beating rival, Egypt’s Mohammed Salah and goalkeeper, Eduoard Mendy from Senegal.

The award ceremony was held in, Rabat, Morocco Thursday evening.

Also, Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala who plays her professional football with Barcelona won the women’s category making her the first female player to win the award for the fifth time.

Mané led his national team, Senegal to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

Meanwhile, Oshoala who was forced to pull out of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2022 in Morocco due to a leg injury dedicated her award to her teammates, the Super Falcons.
