Mrs Naomi Esther Batubum has been arrested by the Police in Ovwian/Aladja Division in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State for torturing her son with cutlass and inflicting him with injuries on his body.
According to reports, the boy who was physically abused was rescued by the police in collaboration with some human rights activists.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 22 at Otor-Udu in the Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learnt that the suspect tied up her son to an electric pole, beat him up with iron and cutlass and laced the injuries she inflicted on him with pepper.
Disclosing the incident, the Secretary of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Israel Joe, said, “Today being 22nd of July, a report from a Facebook follower got to our very comrade Israel Joe on how a woman in Otor-Udu tied up her son on an electric poll, beat him up with iron and cutlass and rub the child with pepper all over all the injury she inflicted on him.
“The Comrade immediately called the Ovwian/Aladja DPO CSP Shaba who then detailed a truck of Policemen along with few comrades, got the woman named Naomi Esther Batubum arrested and the child was rescued.
“The culprit is now detained at the police station while the child has been taken to the hospital.
