Why we killed DPO, Hon. Mate – Terror gang
Four members of a terror gang identified as Hashimu Galadima alias Kan Wuka, Abduwahab Abdulhassan alias Emeka, Hamidu Saleh, and Abdulwahab Ahmed alias Dan Mama met their waterloo after they were arrested by the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Bauchi State for the murder of former Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Garkuwa, a lawmaker identified as Honourable Mate, and the abduction of three members of the lawmaker’s family.
According to The Nation, after the arrest of three culprits, a thorough investigation led to the arrest of the fourth suspect.
While confessing his crimes, 48-year-old Hashimu, who is the leader of the gang and an ex-convict, said that they murdered the DPO because he gave them a tough time and prevented them from raining terror within his jurisdiction.
On the murder of the lawmaker, Hashimu said his gang members killed him and abducted three of his family members because he gave other people money but didn’t give it to him despite begging him for it.
He noted that the killing of the lawmaker was spearheaded by one of the members, Abdulwahab Alhassan.
Another culprit, Alhassan, revealed that he gave the gang members the needed information to track Honourable Mate but didn’t follow them to his house.
Alhassan said he was a drug dealer and they killed the lawmaker because he refused to help him when he had a problem with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), making him spend one year behind bars.
