Abuja-Kaduna train attackers free 7 more abducted passengers
Seven out of the passengers abducted in the March 28 attack on a train in Kaduna State have regained their freedom.
The seven victims were released on Wednesday morning by their abductors after spending 135 days in the custody of the terrorists.
Tukur Mamu, publisher of Desert Herald, who had been involved in the negotiations, reportedly told Channels Television that six of the released victims are members of the same family but the police authorities are yet to confirm the development.
It is however not clear if any ransom was paid to the terrorists for their release.

According to Channels Television, the names of the six family members are Abubakar Idris Garba, a father of four; his wife, Maryama Abubakar Bobbo, and their eldest son, Ibrahim Abubakar Garba who is 10 years old.
Others include Fatima Abubakar Garba, seven years; Imran Abubakar Garba, five years old, and Zainab Abubakar Garba who is only one and a half years.
Abubakar is the son of Chris Garba, former military administrator of Kano and Benue states respectively.
The insurgents also released Aisha Hassan, a 60-year-old woman, who was battling health challenges while in captivity.
Recall that gunmen on March 28 attacked a train heading for Kaduna from Abuja, which led to the death of some passengers while several others were abducted.
The terrorists had earlier demanded the sum of N100 million before their victims could be released as disclosed by some family members of the victims.
Just a few days ago five other victims of the abducted passengers were freed by the terrorists.
The victims freed are Professor Mustapha Umar Imam, who is a medical doctor at Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, Akibu Lawal, Abubakar Ahmed Rufai Mukthar Shu’aibu and Sidi Aminu Sharif.
So far, from June till date not less than 22 passengers have regained their freedom.
