The Court of Appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Tuesday has set aside the judgment which declared the attack on the house of Yoruba nation agitator Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho illegal.

Also, the court nullified the N20 billion exemplary and aggravated damages awarded against the Department of State Security (DSS) for the attack, describing it as outrageous.
Justice Muslim Hassan, in his judgment, held that the Oyo State High Court lacked jurisdiction on the matter, adding that the judge should not have awarded damages based on his personal parameters.
Recall that the DSS invaded the residence of Sunday Igboho on July 1, 2021 – a tactic deployed by the security agency to get him arrested.
However, Sunday Igboho was not around during the invasion but three persons were reportedly killed and 13 others were arrested.
He was arrested three weeks later in Benin Republic while attempting to escape to Germany.
