United’s hopes for their first premier league victory were dashed in the opening 10 minutes of the game courtesy Brentford’s Josh DaSilva who made it 1-0 and eight minutes later Mathias Jensen doubled the lead for the Bees.

The Erik ten Hag boys paid dearly for their lack of coordination in the defence seeing Ben Mee who swung deep into the box from a corner kick making in the 30th minute.

The Bees compounded more woes for United when Toney latches onto the long ball upfield and instantly plays it to the edge of the box for Bryan Mbuemo. He out muscles Shaw to coolly slot it into the bottom corner to seal victory a 4-0 victory.

United are at the bottom of the table after losing two consecutive matches.
