Gov. Buni pledges quick restoration of cut-off Katatarko bridge

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni on Tuesday visited and inspected the Katarko cut-off bridge and assured that it would be fixed as soon as possible.
The Katarko bridge was destroyed by flood following the heavy downpour witnessed in the state lately.

Katarko bridge links two local government areas of Gujba and Gulani from the state capital and Biu, Borno State.
Buni stated that the stage in which the state ministry of works has reached to ensure it restores movement on the road is commendable.
The governor urged them to do their best by ensuring that the bridge is restored and movement on the particular road resumes as soon as possible
“Do your best to see that this road is reconnected for use as quickly as possible.
“We have some other roads especially from Buni Gari to Gulani that have also been cut off. I think it’s high time we reconnected back and I’m aware of the effort the military is making to ensure they support us in putting up a structure that would assist motorists on the roads, ” said Governor Buni.
He further revealed that the Katarko road that links Yobe and Borno states with another neighbouring state is very important “for all of us especially, it would help particularly in improving security situation in the state.
He said the works ministry doesn’t have to prolong the intervention, urging them to ensure that it’s done as quickly as possible.
