Labarina film series bounces back, replaces Nafisa with Fati Washa

Directors of the Kannywood movie, Labarina, have unveiled new actress, Fati Washa, to replace Nafisa Abdullahi, the former lead actress featuring with the name Sumayya.
The popular Hausa series programme rested last year when the lead actress Nafisa Abdullahi (Sumayya) dumped the project without notice.

There were lots of speculations as to what put a halt to the programme. Some said that the financier of the programme, Naziru Ahmad, stopped funding it while others said it was the scriptwriter that stopped writing which threw the entire crew into confusion.
The movie directors had to call for a press conference and announced the suspension of the programme pending when they get a new replacement for Sumayya, and at that point, many popular actresses in the industry developed an interest to join the Labarina series.
Popular actors like Fati Washa, Aisha Humaira, Hannatu Bashir, Halima Atete, Zainab Diamond, Bilkisu Shema, Fati Shu’uma and several others were pencilled down to join the programme but later the directors nominated Fati Abdullahi Washa, born in Kaduna from southern Zaria to replace Nafisa Abdullahi.
One of the directors, Aminu Saira, in a press conference announced that they had decided to resume production with Fati Washa and also apologised to viewers, with a call on the business community and the government to sponsor the programme.
