Neptune Prime officially opens branch office in Damaturu

Neptune Prime in conjunction with the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) on Tuesday officially launched a new office in Damaturu, Yobe state capital.
Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Yobe State Chapter, Comrade Rajab Mohammed, among other journalists in the state commissioned the Neptune Prime new office in Damaturu.

Comrade Rajab while congratulating the Publisher, Chief Executive Officer, Malam Hassan Gimba, and staff of Neptune Prime for opening the new branch in Yobe, also donated five(5) protocol chairs to the branch and pledged support of N10,000 for maintenance of the office.
He said what Neptune Prime has done is what the NUJ Yobe chapter is expecting from all correspondent chapels in the state rather than staying in the government house press centre.
“They should get a place that they would call an office so that any time someone is looking for reporters, they would go straight to that office,” Rajab said.
He said on several occasions when people in the state require journalists to cover an event for them, it is usually difficult as they won’t know where to be contacted, except they come back to the press centre under the leadership of the NUJ who then connects them to the appropriate correspondents.
The Chairman also called on members of Neptune Prime to be balanced and fearless in their reportage.
Earlier in his welcome address, the publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Neptune Prime, Dr Hassan Gimba, represented at the launching ceremony by the state correspondent, Sa’adatu Maina, thanked all the working colleagues for their support.
Gimba explained that the achievement is not only for Neptune Prime but for all working journalists in the state.
He further called on the NUJ members in the state to work in harmony to ensure the success of the profession in the state.
