The two journalists arrested were Chika Udenkwo of AIT and a photojournalist with Blueprint Newspaper, Joseph Atabo.

Neptune Prime correspondence reports that Special Weapon Armed Tactics (SWAT) officers were seen cordoning off the two points leading to the PDP gubernatorial candidate’s campaign office and government house.

It was also gathered that the demolition was however resisted by another set of the police team, the Special Protection Unit provided by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, upon request of the PDP candidate.

When contacted about the arrest of the journalists, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Ishola Babaita, said he was aware of the arrest of the journalists, adding that they had been released.

Babaita apologised to the journalists assuring them that such an act would not be repeated.
