Anambra Senator Ifeanyi Uba escapes death, as gunmen ambush convoy, police operatives, aides feared dead
Gunmen in this evening, attacked the convoy of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South Senatorial District.
Yet-to-be identified number of his Aides including Police operatives were killed at the attack, in Enugwu-Ukwu community, Njikoka local government area of Enugu State.

Sources said the gunmen opened fire on the convoy, and police operatives in the convoy responded, but about six policemen were gunned down.
The vehicles were all riddled with bullets even as over 5 people have been confirmed dead including security detail attached to the Senator.
The Senator is reportedly safe. He was able to escape because he was in a bullet proof car.
The spokesperson of the Enugu State police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack but insisted that the casualty figure remained unknown.
