Crème de la crème join Alhaji Adamu Waziri to celebrate 70th birthday in Abuja (Photos/Video)

Former Minister of Police Affairs, Politician and Prince, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, on Wednesday, marked his 70th birthday with a dinner in Abuja.

Alhaji Waziri who was born with a silver spoon being a son of a prince and grandson of Emir Muhammad Ibn Idris of Fika Emirate of Yobe State is also a politician under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The event was held at the prestigious Silk Chinese Restaurant at Sinoki Building in the Central Business District of Abuja on Wednesday, September 28th, 2022.

The dinner graced a lot of crème de la crème including two former Vice Presidents, former Governors, former Ministers, former Senators and many other notable personalities.

Alhaji Kashim Imam led the opening prayer.

Some of the guests were given turns at the dinner to give their goodwill speech to the celebrant and here are some of their quotes below:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was the Special Guest of Honour said: “I and my family congratulate the celebrant. His older brother was my contemporary and Adamu is my younger brother, and I wish you many happy returns.

Architect Namadi Sambo, the immediate former Vice President, said: “I congratulate you on your birthday and wish you another seventy years”.

Alhaji Yayale Ahmed who was the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation said: “Adamu Maina Waziri was the youngest in our peer group. I wish you improve your humility, forgiveness and accommodation. He outsmarted me in football and I outsmarted him in dancing.”

Alhaji Sule Lamido who is a former Governor of Jigawa State said: “I have known the celebrant since the 1970s, he is now 70 years old. I wish you success and a hefty appetite.”

Mr Olamilekan Adegbite, a serving Minister of Mines and Steel Development, said: “I thank God for this milestone achievement and wish you many returns.”

Hajiya Maryam Katagum, a serving Minister for State, Trade and Industry said: “We attended a coeducation school. We didn’t see each other until when we met at the school where our children attend. He called me Princess, and my children asked why I told them I am indeed a Princess. I wish you success.”

The wife of the celebrant, Hajiya Zuwaira Adamu Maina Waziri, in her response said: “Daddy, you are selfless, and brilliant in our 33 years as a couple. I am the luckiest wife alive. Happy birthday to you our hero.”

His children, Habiba, Sadiq, Amira and Muhammad cheered their father and wish him well at the age of 70.

In his response, the celebrant, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri said: “I thank all who came to honour my family, I want to participate in the return of this country to a healthy nation. My elder brother Atiku called me to work for his ambition to be realized. I was humbled, not only for Atiku but for Nigeria so that we can return this country to the part of glory like 1999.

The personalities that graced the occasion included former Ministers: Architect Ibrahim Bunu of FCT, Ambassador Aminu Wali of Foreign Affairs and Murtala Aliyu of Power and now Secretary General of Arewa Consultative Forum.

Former Governors Ahmad Muhammad Makarfi of Kaduna, Ahmad Adamu Muazu of Bauchi, Boni Haruna of Adamawa, Sule Lamido of Jigawa and Muazu Babangida Aliyu of Niger.
