His outstanding performance being helped Ajax to conceive less goal than expected.
Liverpool having lost 1-4 to Napoli last were to an extent performed well kudos to Egypt national team captain Mohamed Salah who opened the scoring chart for the Reds in the 17th minute.
Cameroon star Joel Matip scored the winning goal for Liverpool football club in the 89th minute after receiving an assist from Konstantinos Tsimikas to end the match 2-1.
Bassey despite all odds having recovered from an injury he had last week was arguably one of the best players on the pitch. He had 79 touches against Liverpool football club, he had 90% pass accuracy, he won 5 duels, he made two blocks and also won 5 tackles.
He was more or less the restraining force in the Ajax squad last night which prevented Liverpool from score more goals.

Calvin bassey on the ball is one of the best you'd see from a defender relax, man is still getting used to the pressure, then you might swallow your words

Calvin Bassey would be Ajax’ next big Defensive sale in a couple of seasons. Stamina, Grit, Technique, Composure, the Italian born Nigerian CB has it all.
Sadly his defensive efforts weren’t enough to keep Ajax from a late defeat against Liverpool. pic.twitter.com/OWNXd2wsST
