Innovative young man creates irrigation machine for dry season farming in Yobe
A young resident of Gashu’a town in Yobe State, Engineer Mustapha, has developed a machine that provides water through its ability to pump water from boreholes without using electricity or a generator.
The young engineer connected an old machine to draw the water from the borehole.
Engineer Mustapha said he made the creation using an old machine which cost not more than 50,000 or 60,000 naira.
He said that if three litres of fuel are added to the machine, it will work for 10 to 12 hours without stopping. Then after 12 days, the machine is turned upside down.

He added that when he got the old machine, nothing was removed from its parts, which is the trick to connect it to the borehole, when the machine is raised, it gets slow and water starts to flow.
The town of Gashu’a has been awarded the certificate for summer farming, of different kinds of food products, and the new innovation will yield more outputs during harvest.
