Commission confers ambassadorial honour on Emir of Fika, Etsu Nupe (Photos)
The National Population Commission (NPC) on Thursday decorated the Emir of Fika, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Abali Muhammadu Idrissa (CON) as an ambassador of the commission.

Mr Ojogun Tellson Osifo, the Director General of NPC, conferred the honour on the Emir alongside the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, in an event that took place at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Emir of Fika, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Abali Muhammadu Idrissa (CON) was recently honoured with the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In 2010, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan conferred Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) honour on the royal father.
It will be recalled that the Emir’s grandfather, the 41st Emir of Fika, His Royal Highness Muhammad Ibn Idrissa, of blessed memory was honoured with M. B. E by the then King of England, Albert Frederick Arthur George (VI) in 1944.
The letter dated 1st January 1944, was signed by the then governor in Lagos who also congratulated the 41st emir.
HRH Muhammad Abali (CON) reigns over the prestigious Fika Emirate which dates back to the 15th century. The Emirate is dominated by the Bole tribe of Yobe State whose origin traces back to Daniski in 1805. The headquarters of the Emirate is situated in the iconic Potiskum town.
The Emir is known for his meritorious service to humanity, promotion of peace, creation of employment opportunities for the youths and empowering his people through numerous social, corporate and human capital development initiatives.
