The Delta State Police Command have imposed dusk to dawn curfew in Ughelli area in the state, aftermath Tuesday’s bloody protest by some youths and suspected internet fraudsters against officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to the police command, the curfew became necessary as a measure to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Recall that youths in the area took to the streets to protest against alleged incessant harassment by EFCC officials in the state.
The protest started on a peaceful note, but later turned violent when trucks laden with petroleum products and granites were set ablaze, and a youth lost his life to stray bullet.
About five (5) trucks were completely burnt down, thirteen (13) vandalised and two youths seriously injured during the protest.
