Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 39 suspects for culpable homicide, kidnapping, “shila” activities, theft, rape, housebreaking, and other violent crimes.

The suspects were paraded on Tuesday by the Commissioner of Police CP S. K. Akande, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operation, Ajani M. Omolabi.

CP Akande, said that the Command’s operatives drawn from Crack Squad and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) carried out an intelligence-driven and crime-boosting patrol to the criminal hideout and arrested the suspects.

He appreciated the support being rendered by the citizens and assured them that all the suspects would be diligently prosecuted upon the completion of the investigation.

Akande said that the police would not relent in their efforts to protect the lives and property of the citizens across Adamawa State.

On the 2023 general election, he charged all officers to beef up security towards guaranteeing a crime-free environment for political campaigns and other electoral processes.

“In active preparations for the 2023 general election, crime-fighting strategies have been designed by the Command to clear pathways for the smooth electoral process and ensure public safety, law and order during the election,” Akande said.
