Yobe head of service, other top gov’t functionaries attend funeral prayer for Emir of Damaturu’s late son

The Yobe State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal, among other government officials in the state on Saturday attended the funeral prayer for the late Abba Sadiq Shehu Hashimi, son of Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn Umar Al’Amin Elkanemi, the Emir of Damaturu.

The funeral prayer led by Imam Goni Ibrahim Goni Daudu took place at the palace of the Emir of Damaturu.

Late Abba Sadiq Shehu Hashimi died at the age of 21 after a protracted illness at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital Damaturu.

The deceased left behind his mother, brothers, sisters and his father, the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn Umar Al’Amin Elkanemi.

Yobe State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal, expressed sympathy and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for the Almighty to grant the family and the Emir of Damaturu the fortitude to bear the loss.

Special prayers were offered by the Special Adviser to Yobe State governor on religious affairs, Ustaz Babagana Malam Kyari, for Almighty Allah to forgive the sins of the deceased and grant him Al jannatul Firdaus.

The funeral prayers which took place at the palace of the Emir of Damaturu had in attendance hundreds of sympathisers within and outside the state.
