A 3-year-old girl, Lydia Azatyom, has been rescued alive in an abandoned well after she was declared missing for three days in the Tudun Wada neighborhood of Jos, Plateau State.
According to Correctkid Blog, Lydia was last seen on Thursday, October 27, 2022, playing with friends outside her home before she vanished.
Her family and neighbors made numerous attempts to find out where she was, but all of their efforts were unsuccessful until three days later when one Dauda Dung announced that she had been located.
Tudun Wada Broadcast reported that some young men discovered the girl inside the abandoned well in a nearby unfinished building.
It was deduced that the young men had gone to the location to relieve themselves when they heard sounds of movement coming from the dry well.
It was later discovered that the building had been vacant for a long time and was now being used as a dump and for open defecation.
Lydia was rushed to the hospital after sustaining bruises all over her head, where she is currently receiving medical care.
“It is impossible to tell whether the girl accidentally fell into the well or was dumped there,” the rescuers said.
