Yobe gov’t bags best due process, good governance award
Yobe State Government has received the due process and the best performing state in good governance award from the Public Procurement Association of Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, DG, Press and Media Affairs to the Yobe State Governor, the association said government transactions under the Governor Mai Mala Buni administration has made the state government more transparent and accountable.
The Association commended Governor Buni for giving the state Public Procurement Bureau free hands to operate without hindrance.
The Public Procurement Bureau was also honoured in recognition of its non-compromising posture in awarding and executing state projects.
The state Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Saleh Samanja, who represented Governor Buni at the award ceremony, commended the Association for the recognition, saying, “this is quite encouraging.”
“This award will encourage His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni (CON) and the government of Yobe State to intensify due process in government transactions and projects.
“We also have a very efficient and effective Bureau of Procurement that ensures strict compliance to due process.
“The excellent leadership provided by the governor has made governance responsive, accountable and transparent” he said.
