NIQS, Niger govt mourn ES, ex-Commissioner, Mohammed Ndayebo

The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) has mourned the death of its Executive Secretary (ES) and former Commissioner of Information in Niger State, Malam Danladi Mohammed Ndayebo who died after being involved in a motor accident that occurred on Sunday night along the Minna-Suleja road in Niger State.

It was revealed that he died as a result of internal injuries he sustained as a result of the accident.

Meanwhile, the chief press secretary to the Niger State Governor, Mary Noel-Berje, has also expressed grief over the death of Ndayebo on behalf of the state government.

Noel-Berje in a statement described the death of Ndayebo as a monumental loss to Niger state in particular and the country at large.

According to her “we have lost a rare gem, a brilliant, versatile young man who was in his prime and his services still needed by the state and country.

“My prayers are with the family, his close friends and associates. At this point, all we can do is to pray that God forgives his shortcomings and grant rest to his soul”, she said.

The CPS advised the family to see Ndayebo’s death as an act of Allah, pointing out that no one can question the will of Allah.

Ndayebo was a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communications from the same institution.

Between 2004 and 2008, he held various editorial positions in Leadership Newspapers and was at various times, Director General (Media Relations), Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner of Information in Niger State, during the administration of Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu.

He is survived by a wife and a son.

Ndayebo has since been buried according to Muslim rites.
