14-year-old Gombe girl sets record with 7 int’l medals in mathematics
Nigerian mathematics genius, Fatima Adamu Maikusa, from Gombe State has won seven mathematics medals in different competitions across the world to set an exceptional record in the country.
14-year-old Fatima started displaying her mathematical expertise at the age of nine and is considered a role model to many girls.
She is currently a grade 11 student at the Nigerian Turkish International School (NTIC) in Kano State.
So far, Fatima has won seven international medals in mathematics across the world including the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 08), International Eduversal Mathematics Competition in Jakarta, Indonesia, International Math Challenge in Bangkok, Thailand, and Kangourou Sans Frontiers – KSF Mathematics Competition.
Others are the Future Intelligence Students Olympiad (FISO), Mathematics Without Borders in Bulgaria, and the Komodo Math Festival in Indonesia.
