IPOB/ESN militants kill ex-commissioner, brother, 2 others
A former Commissioner for Rural Development in Enugu State, Honourable Gab Onuzulike, has been reported killed by suspected Eastern Security Network/Indegenous People of Biafra (ESN/IPOB) gunmen.
Reports said Onuzulike, who was also a former Chairman of Oji River Local Government Area, was shot dead Friday evening alongside his elder brother Elvis Onuzulike, who was with him.
The incident occurred at Nkpokolo Achi while the ex-commissioner was returning from a burial ceremony.

A source, however, said that a team of security men gave the ESN gunmen a hot chase, killed one of them and arrested another member of the gang.
Meanwhile, two persons were also shot dead at Aguikpa community in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State Friday morning.
The victims were identified as Ikechukwu Nnamani, a former President-General of the Oruku community and one Ndubuisi Nnamani, a native of the Aguikpa community.
Reports from the area said some gunmen believed to be working for a faction in the Oruku communal conflict laid an ambush somewhere near the health centre at Aguikpa community in the early hours of Friday and gunned down the two.
It could not be ascertained if any arrest was made by security agencies following the shooting but sources said some of the residents fled their homes on Friday.
However, it was learnt that the two corpses of the victims were removed by policemen to a morgue in Enugu hours after the incident on Friday.
According to reports, ESN gunmen have been terrorising the people of the area, killing and setting houses ablaze after the Enugu State Government set up a judicial panel into the Oruku – Umuode communal conflict.
The findings and recommendations of the panel had since been submitted to the state government but not much has been heard about its implementation.
