Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau, wins Best African Female Actress award in Canada

Popular Kannywood actress, producer and director, Rahama Sadau has emerged as the Best African Female Actress at a film festival in Toronto, Canada.

Rahama in a statement in Kaduna expressed her extreme appreciation for the organizers of the event, adding that when her name was chosen among the nominees she never thought that she will be the overall winner.

The producer of the successful “Rariya Hausa Film” was born in Kaduna and after her Higher National Diploma Program from Kaduna Polytechnic she joined Kannywood through Ali Nuhu and featured in “Gani Gawane”, and since then she became popular. Rahama started running into a series of problems and was suspended from the industry, and now she produces her own films.

On 18th August 2015, Rahama won the best actress award, with Fati Washa winning the supporting actress award at a city people’s annual award in Lagos, and later she was invited to feature in films in India because she speaks Hindu.

On May 15th 2022, Rahama Sadau shared a photo of herself dazzling in a red outfit at her first-ever African Magic Viewers Choice, subsequently, she also won several awards internationally and locally. Recently, she spoke on how she escaped from the Abuja-Kaduna Train attack.

The actress was also recently in the news when she refused to serve in Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Committee. She is also not popular with Islamic clerics in the North because of her manner of dressing and way of life.
