“They attacked my men on Friday night because there were rumours on Thursday about the attack. We had to lay more ambushes and we became more security conscious. Unfortunately at Ebebe junction on Friday evening, they attacked our men and killed two of them but we can never relent no matter what they do.
“Based on investigations, our operatives cordoned off the area and were able to arrest so many of them. Two have made useful confessional statements that they were responsible for the killing of one Ebubeagu member last month.
“According to their statements, they confessed to have operated with an AK-47 rifle. They also confessed to carrying out the recent attack at Ebebe junction on Friday. We have handed them over to the police for more investigation,” he said.
