Tinubu/Shettima support group names former Zamfara Governor North-West grand patron
The Northern Alliance Movement for Tinubu Shettima Support Group (NAM/TSSG) has paid a courtesy visit to the former governor of Zamfara State, Mahmoud Shinkafi, to make him the grand patron of North-West geopolitical zone.
Shinkafi is the current North-West deputy coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
In a statement signed by the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Honourable Bashir Rafiu Lawan, NAM/TSSG national coordinator Captain Yahaya Jarabu Umar (RTD) who led the delegation was accompanied by the North-West zonal coordinator, Dr Aliyu Yako; Zamfara State coordinator, Honourable Sunusi Attahiru; national director of traditional and religious affairs, Malam Usman Mohammed (Kauran Namoda), and Zamfara State organising secretary.
Umar said the award given to Shinkafi is an honour bestowed on people that made undisputable contributions to the Tinubu – Shetima campaign movement and the progress of APC in Zamfara State.
The statement appreciated Shinkafi who served as a governor and a relevant stakeholder in the Presidential Campaign Council activities.
“He is a man of unprecedented character who is always ready to work for the development of the party and the success of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket in the next general elections,” the statement said.
In his response, the former governor appreciated the efforts of the organisation in ensuring that Tinubu/Shettima among other APC candidates in the northern states emerge victorious in the next general elections.
He applauded the group for finding him worthy to be the Grand Patron of North-West geopolitical zone of the organisation and promised to support the group in its political activities.
Shinkafi reaffirmed that the Tinubu-led presidency will bring massive development in Nigeria based on his proven past records of pro-masses and people-oriented policies.
Similarly, the Northern Alliance Movement for Tinubu – Shettima Support Group, Adamawa State chapter, held a general meeting to discuss campaign methods that will boost support for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at state and federal levels.
The meeting was chaired by the state coordinator, Honourable Nafiu Ahmed, who emphasised the need for members to build strong support links for their candidates as the 2023 elections draw near.
He urged the group to give their support in accordance with electoral guidelines, party rules, and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Also speaking during the meeting, members of the support group promised to not back down, even though the Adamawa State’s sitting governor is from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the presidential candidate is also from the state.
They maintained that Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, Aishatu Binani, are people with an unprecedented track record of good governance in the past position they held.
They said APC if voted will continue to consolidate the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari in terms of infrastructure, socio-political, and economic development of the country.
They argued that Tinubu – Shettima’s presidency will eradicate division and strengthen the nation’s democracy.
