NCE begins its 44th meeting in Adamawa

The National Council on Establishments (NCE) on Monday began its 44th meeting that would last for five days in Adamawa State.

Speaking at the commencement of the meeting in Yola, Mr Okokon Udo, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation said the meeting is to strengthen the civil service to enable it to meet its objectives and properly play its role in the development of the country.

He thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa for hosting the meeting and providing a conducive atmosphere for the delegates.

Udo said that the delegates were drawn from 36 states of the federation and FCT, to determine the establishment of related matters of common interests.

“The meeting has two segments, today we are holding the meeting of officials chaired by myself and members were permanent secretaries from 36 states who were in charge of the establishment and other related matters.

“After this meeting, we are going to submit our reports to the ministerial session, chaired by the head of service of the federation and members will be other heads of service from 36 states”, he said.

According to him, the session will consider all the memorandums submitted to the council for uniform decisions and implementation in the service.

In his remarks, Mr Edgar Emos, Adamawa State Head of Service, welcomed the delegates to the state and assured them of all necessary support for successful deliberations.

He said that the meeting is very important to deliberate on the issue that affects the civil service in the country, adding that the door is open for interest groups to submit their memorandum.
