Police donate N26 million to families of deceased personnel in Borno

The family members of the 12 police personnel who died in active service in Borno State have received N26 million donation from the Nigerian Police Command in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdu Umar, stated this while presenting cheques to the beneficiaries on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
He said the gesture was sequel to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba-Alkali, as part of the Force’s commitment towards improving the welfare of police and family members of the deceased personnel.
Umar urged the beneficiaries to ensure effective utilisation of the money to fend for their families as the one who does that for them is no more. He also commended the IGP for the gesture to the deceased families.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke lauded the gesture, adding that it would go a long way to improve their social and economic well-being. (NAN)
