2023 Elections: Nigerians have nothing to fear regarding effective transmission of results – INEC Chairman
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, has said that Nigerians have nothing to fear about the effectiveness of result transmission in the 2023 election using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS).
Recall that Nigerians have been apprehensive about the possibility of using BIVAS in poor network areas as it depends on the telecommunications networks to work.

But responding to a question on the effective use of the device in 2023 during a media chat, the INEC chairman said they were liaising with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to make sure there would be a seamless transmission of results in the 2023 election.
He said: “INEC has identified blind spots (where there are poor or no networks) and we are working to make sure there won’t be any problem.
“We are working with the NCC to make sure we transmit from blind spots. They are the network regulators and they will be very vital to that.
“We are making sure and working hard so that we transmit freely all around the country”.
