Actress reveals why she no longer feature in Kannywood films

Gabonese-born Kannywood actress, Hadiza Aliyu Gabon, has revealed why she is no longer seen in Hausa films.
According to her, it is because she has become a celebrity and a sought-after artist and as such, she no longer charges less than N1 million naira per film.
She said: “I have come a long way and have rendered all I could for the growth of the industry, and haven’t been in active acting for more than 10 years. One has reached a stage that you have to negotiate a reasonable fee before accepting to append your signature in any acting contract”.
According to her, she now charges from 1 million above and if you can’t pay that, then there’s no business deal.
Speaking to some media representatives in Kano, in her new Hadiza Gabon YouTube Channel Office, named Gabon’s room, she added that she has decided to open her YouTube Channel to be presenting and interviewing personalities.
Hadiza is a diploma graduate in French from the Republic of Gabon but has promised to enrol in Bayero University, Kano for a part-time program in Mass Communication or Journalism.
Speaking on marriage, she said: “If destiny decides to put me in a man’s house, meaning if I get married, I will refocus my businesses on an agreement with the man that I will marry, but definitely, I will still be in the entertainment business or marketing.
“I came to Nigeria virtually with nothing to tell but as you can see, Gabon is now a successful actress, I am very grateful to my fans and Nigerians in general, very soon, I will venture into television production and become another Oprah Winfrey”.
“Kannywood industry is growing so fast, but I can tell you, this new crest for series production is not a better way to develop the industry. We still need the conventional weekly film production instead of waiting for weeks or months for a series film program that may not even attract the attention of viewers, so I will look into the issue of going massively into the conventional film production”, she said.
