Lionel Messi will have at least one more match to feature after his country, Argentina, proved their worth beating the Netherlands 4-3 on penalties to secure the semi-final ticket at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar Friday night.

The Argentines nearly got the job done at normal ninety minutes with a 2-1 lead but the Dutch out of no where managed to equalise after they were awarded a free kick right outside the box with seconds left in the first half of extra time.
The South American champions had the night in their favour after the Liverpool player, Virgil Van Dijk and Berghuis missed their spot kick punched out by the Argentine goalkeeper, Emiliano Martínez.
The decisive kick for Argentina was delivered by Lautaro Martinez who sent the Dutch goalkeeper, Noppert the wrong way to seal victory for his country.
Argentina will meet Croatia on Tuesday for the semi final.
