Fintiri signs N175 billion 2023 budget in to law

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has on Friday signed a budget of N175 billion into law for the 2023 fiscal year.

This follows the passage of the appropriation bill by the State House of Assembly.

Recal that on 25th November 2022, Governor Fintiri presented the. appropriation bill for 2023 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration.

The budget has N105 billion representing 60% as recurrent expenditure and over N70 billion representing 40% as capital expenditure.

According to Fintiri, the budget tagged ‘Budget of Consolidation’ will ensure completion of all ongoing projects started by his administration and to construct a super highway from FGGC Yola to Yola-Town through Yolde-Pate.

Fintiri said his administration will establish and construct three mega secondary schools, one in each of the senatorial districts which will serve as special schools for the most talented of Adamawa students.

He added that the government will also establish High-tech Vocational Training Centres to serve as Information Technology Skill Incubation Hub for the development of the teeming youths in the state among other key projects.

Those in attendance at the event include Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth, and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Pwamakeino Mackondo, Chairman and members of House Standing Committee on Finance, Appropriation and Budget, and Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Prof Maxwell Gidado.
