Kano State Court has sentenced an Hisbah officer to death by hanging.
Justice Amina Adamu said the accused Hisbah officer was found conclusively guilty of the offence he committed.
The Hisbah officer was charged with the murder of Hauwa Ibrahim which, according to the court, is contrary to section 221 of the Penal Cord.
Neptune Prime gathered that Dayyabu Muhammad who has been sacked by the Hisbah authorities was an errand boy in the victim’s family.
He approached Hauwa with marriage proposal, but reports had it that Hauwa’s parents did not agree to give her to him in marriage, a development that instigated him into deciding to kill the deceased.
In the year 2011, Dayyabu visited Hauwa’s house with the pretence of exchanging pleasantries but had an ulterior motive. After greeting her parents, he went straight to Hauwa’s room where he met her sleeping. He Instantly brought out a knife which he had hidden inside his clothes and stabbed Hauwa to death.
