Stampede at Asake’s London concert leaves Nigerian mother of 2 dead
A Nigerian mother of two has been identified as the person who tragically passed away on Saturday, December 17, following a tragic incident outside the London concert of Nigerian artist, Ahmed Ololade, fondly called Asake.
Naija News reports that Rebecca Ikumelo of Newham died after a stampede at the 02 Brixton Academy on Thursday where Asake was billed to perform.
The incident also left eight people injured with four cases critical.
According to MyLondon, Ikumelo died after sustaining critical injuries at the crowd crush at O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday.
Toni Tone, in a twitter post, decried the death of Rebecca. She posted a beautiful photo of her and wrote: “This photo was taken the day I last saw Rebecca. She was a beautiful woman who radiated positive energy and was dedicated to being the best version of herself for her kids. She also did so much to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder. My heart goes out to her family”.
