Story from Sa’adatu Maina, Damaturu

The senator representing Yobe South senatorial district, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi, has on Monday flagged off the disbursement of N50,000 cash grant to each 2570 selected constituents.

The disbursement took place in Damagum town of Fune local government area where 560 constituents across 13 wards of Fune LGA benefited from the empowerment project.

Speaking at the flagging-off ceremony, Senator Bomoi said the cash donation aims to help the constituents start up businesses and attend to some basic needs which will help with the current economic hardship people face in the state.

Bomoi, who was represented by the Assistant Legal Adviser, Yobe State All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Idi Jugujugu, said the gesture is also to complement the effort of the Yobe State Government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni in improving the living condition of the people as a result of the current global economic reset.

Senator Bomoi used the forum to call on the constituents to unite themselves and vote for APC from top to bottom during the forthcoming general elections.

In his remarks, the Secretary of Senator Bomoi Support Group, Ibrahim Mohammed, said Bomoi decided to make the cash donation to his electorates because of the economic situation that the country is facing.

He stated that because of the hardship people are experiencing, Senator Bomoi deem it necessary to come and give the donation to the less privileged and some active political members in his senatorial district so that they can cope.

“He is doing this at the right time,” Jugujugu said.

Some of the beneficiaries, Malama Talatu Sale and Haruna Mai Kaji, appreciated the gesture by Senator Bomoi and promise to utilise the money given to them for the purpose intended.

Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi is the Senator at the National Assembly representing Potiskum, Fika, Fune, and Nangere Senatorial districts.
