Breaking: Mysterious fire guts Potiskum central market
A mysterious strange fire has overtaken Yobe State’s Potiskum central market.
Eyewitnesses claim that the fire started at the second-hand clothing seller’s point of the market, while the exact source of the fire is still unknown.
The Daily Independent quoted one of the traders by the name of Auwal Abdulkarim as saying, “We rushed to the fire service department in Potiskum to report and seek rescue but regrettably they told us that all the four (4) vehicles are off the road and grounded for quite a long time, we’re helpless while the fire keeps burning our wealth.”
“Regrettably, we are using local means to put off the fire. We, therefore, appeal to our amiable Governor, Mai Mala Buni to come to our aid by repairing these vehicles, we know he is not aware of this”.
This is the second time the market would be gutted by fire in nearly two years.
In March 2021, a fire destroyed many shops and other valuables worth millions of Naira at Potiskum central market in Yobe State.
The cause of the inferno which was put off by some good samaritan was also not known.
