Business owners hail Gov. Buni for increased sales during presidential visit, APC rally
Business owners in Yobe State have hailed Governor Mai Mala Buni for the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC rally that brought about increased sales in their businesses.
Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Digital & Strategic Communications to Governor Mai Mala Buni disclosed that
hotels, eateries, traders, suya sellers and other businesses in Damaturu recorded high patronage when the President visited the state capital.
President Muhammadu Buhari was in Yobe on a two-day working visit that ended Tuesday. During the visit, Buhari commissioned developmental projects executed by Governor Buni administration and the leadership of the Nigerian Police Force.
Some of the projects inaugurated by the President are the Muhammadu Buhari Cargo International Airport, Modern Markets, Housing Estates, Schools and the Nigeria’s largest Maternal and Childhealth Complex and Headquaters of the Nigerian Police Force among others.
Ali said a visit to some hotels, eateries, suya spots, markets and streets in the state capital revealed that they experienced increased patronage and a hike in hotel accommodation and foods.
It was gathered that hotels in Damaturu were fully booked despite the increase in room charges.
Speaking on Monday, some of the business owners said the visit is a great development for the state and their business.
They commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for organising the events in the state capital.
A receptionist at Zadiah Suites in Damaturu who wished to remain anonymous said all the rooms in the hotel were fully booked for three days because of the presidential visit and the APC rally.
“We are happy with the visit and the way it lifted our business. The presidential visit and APC rally has brought great turnaround to our businesses.
“The prices were not hiked to the detriment of the customers that came for the events. We sold to make little gains for our livelihood.
“We improved our services to first class, deserving the top dignitaries that came and we make some gains,’’ she said.
Another attendant in Sahel Suites said they witnessed increase in sales and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for the projects that brought about the presidential visit.
The manager of AlSudaniyya eateries, Alhaji Gali, said they made brisks business as food were sold out because the restaurant was full to capacity.
“The visit is a big one to the state and a good opportunity for us,’’ he said.
Honourable Usman, an APC chieftain from Borno State, said the importance of the presidential visit and the APC rally can not be over-emphasised. It is a good fortune, he said.
He thanked Governor Mai Mala Buni for successfully hosting the President and the APC rally in the state.
“This is what we expect from Governor Mai Mala Buni and Yobe as a home for the APC, he said.
