Troost-Ekong completes move to Salernitana from Watford

Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong, has joined Serie A side, Salernitana, on loan from Watford until the end of the season.
Salernitana confirmed the move on their website on Tuesday.

“US Salernitana 1919 communicates that it has reached an agreement with Watford FC for the temporary transfer with the right to buy the defender born in ’93 William Troost-Ekong. The player will wear the number 15 shirt”.
The Italian club must make the move permanent in the summer.
29-year-old Troost-Ekong has struggled to nail down a regular playing time at Watford and has made 16 appearances for the Hornets in the championship this season.
The Super Eagles vice-captain is making a return to Italy, where he spent two years with Udinese between 2018 and 2020.
He has been handed the number 15 shirt and is expected to make his debut for Salernitana against Lecce on Saturday in the Serie A.
Salernitana occupies the 16th position on the log, six points clear of the relegation zone.
Troost-Ekong made his Super Eagles debut against Chad in 2015.
He was part of the Super Eagles team that finished third at the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.
