Man City, Man Utd claim victory in Sunday’s premier league fixtures

Manchester City on Sunday recovered from their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last week to beat Aston Villa 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

City started off on goal early in the fourth minute of the game courtesy Rodri who ran past Kamara to the ball, and the Spanish midfielder planted a powerful header into the bottom-left corner to put his team in the lead.
Erling Haaland is who is still on his goal drought provided a pass for Iker Gundogan who then slammed the ball home from close range to make it 2-0 to the champions.
Villa were already decimated in the first half as they allowed the Pep Guardiola’s boys to find the back of the net for the third time courtesy Rihad Mahrez who scored a penalty.
The visitors got a consolation goal in the 61st minute courtesy, Ollie Watkins as the game ended 3-1.
This victory for City means they are three points away league leaders, Arsenal who are 51 points on the log.
Earlier on, Manchester United proved their dominance over Leeds United in a 2-0 victory to increase the gap from Newcastle.
United are currently third on the log with 46 points just two points below City with 48 points.
