Akinribido in a statement via his official Twitter handle explained why President Buhari must assert his full authority on Governor Elrufai.
In the statement, Tomide Akinribido said, “President Buhari must exert the full authority of his office on Governor Elrufai now! His recent statement is an incitement to Kaduna residents to disregard the constitutional directives of the President and C- in-C, which is tantamount to treason”.
Recalled that President Buhari in a national broadcast on Thursday directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to release the old N200 naira notes back into circulation while old N1000 and N500 cease to be legal tenders.
The president’s declaration comes after the Supreme Court banned the CBN and the federal government from phasing out the old naira notes and implementing the new monetary policy.
