Chelsea escape defeat as VAR rules out West Ham late goal

Revamped Chelsea squad were on Saturday afternoon lucky escaping a defeat after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ruled out Declan Rice’s header who was spotted to be at offside position in the 83rd minute.

Chelsea were first to find the back of the net in the 16th minute when Joao Felix with a quick run latched onto the ball which curled across Fabianski to score his first goal for the Blues to make it 1-0.
The Blues once again found the back of the net in the 22nd minute courtesy Kai Harvetz but it was denied by VAR.
West Ham got their hands on despite being down by a goal and it was Emerson Palmieri who to the far post where he fired his low shot past Kepa from a tight angle into the far bottom corner to make it 1-1.
Chelsea despite having big wigs on the pitch including midfielder and Argentina World Cup winner, Enzo Fernández failed to make impact in the second 45 minutes as hosts, West Ham had most of the positions.
Chelsea are yet to get a victory since their last over Crystal Palace on January 15. They are currently ninth on the log with 31 points while West Ham are 16th with 20 points.
