FIFA Club World Cup: Ighalo pockets N122 million as Saudi Al-Hilal reach final

Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo is N122 million richer after helping his club, Al Hilal, reach the final of the FIFA Club World Cup on Tuesday.

Ighalo was in action following their 3-2 victory over Brazil giants, Flamingo in the semi-final of the 2023 edition of the tournament.

Ighalo and the rest of the team were pledged the N122 million each.

Quoting a Twitter user, @jacobsBen, the post stated, “Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud has pledged one million Saudi Riyal (£222k) to each Al-Hilal player for reaching the Club World Cup Final and a further one million if they win the tournament.”

The statement added, “Al-Hilal beat Copa Libertadores Champions, Flamengo in the semi-finals to reach the final, and will now face the winner from the Al Ahly of Egypt and Real Madrid match in the final.”
