Manchester City on Wednesday night pulled a 1-1 draw with Red Bull (RB) Leipzig in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match at the Red Bull Arena Stadium in Germany.

City were first to record a goal in the 27th minute courtesy Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez who smashed the ball into the bottom-right corner of the post to make it 1-0.

The star-studded Pep Guardiola could not make much impact on the pitch tried to stabilise the ball until Leipzig found a breakthrough when Halstenberg whips in the cross from a short corner, and Ederson scrambled seeing Gvardiol rises high to nod the ball into the far corner to make 1-1 giving the hosts an equaliser.

City will be looking for a favourable outcome as they host the German side in March.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan narrowly escaped a draw outcome in the 86th minute, Belgian International and former Chelsea player, Romelu Lukaku who came in as a substitute answered the call for Inter in which the game ended 1-0 in favour of Inter.
