Veteran Nollywood actress goes blind, seeks financial assistance

Veteran Nollywood actress, Maureen Okpoko, has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to come to her aid as she is going blind.

In a video which surfaced online, the ailing actress revealed how she struggles to see, adding that she needs money to treat the vision impairment and blindness, which is why she is reaching out to Nigerians.

According to her, loss of vision has been a tough experience but she is grateful to God for the gift of life. She also asked her fans to pray for her.

She said: “I suddenly lost my sight, which means I can no longer see or I can’t see for now.

“I’m seeking your financial assistance, it would be greatly appreciated if y’all can come to my aid.

“I also need your prayers and words of encouragement. It has not been an easy journey for me but I’m grateful for the gift of life. Thank you all.”

The Anambra State-born thespian has appeared in a lot of Nigerian television series and movies including ‘Red Scorpion’, ‘Baby Oku’, ‘Clinic Matters’, ‘University Mafias’, ‘Dear Mother’, ‘Sorrowful’ and a host of others.
