AFCONQ: Star-studded Super Eagles suffer shock defeat from Guinea-Bissau

The only goal of the game was scored in the 29th minute courtesy, Mama Baldé who was left alone after getting a through ball from Opa Sanganté in the middle of the pitch and he slotted the ball into the back of the net in the open legs of goalkeeper, Uzoho to give his side the lead.

The Eagles were perhaps sluggish in the first 45 minutes of the game lacking coordination and accurate passes among the attackers.

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen was unable to read in between the lines and failed to connect with the likes of Samuel Chukwueze.

There were improvements after the break from the Nigerian side but the visitors were able to withstand the pressure which helped them to defend their goal for more than one hour of play.

Guinea-Bissau are currently topping Group A with seven points while are second with six points.

Nigeria will travel to Guinea-Bissau on Monday, March 27 for the return leg.
