After 16 months, Tottenham Hotspur sack Antonio Conte 

English Premier League (EPL) club side, Tottenham Hotspur, have announced the sack of Antonio Conte.

The made the announcement on Sunday night on their official website.

Cristian Stellini, will be in charge as Acting Head Coach, according to the statement.

The statement reads, “We can announce that Head Coach Antonio Conte has left the Club by mutual agreement. We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio’s first season at the Club. We thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future.

“Cristian Stellini will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as Assistant Head Coach.”

The club will be battling with the remaining 10 games in the EPL to keep up with the top four spot for the UEFA Champions League qualification, according to chairman, Daniel Levy.

He said, “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place.

“We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters.”

There have been speculations that the Italian will be asked to relinquish his position as manager following his outburst on the players after they were forced to a needless 3-3 with Southampton on Saturday, March 18.

The 53-year-old before coming back to England led Inter Milan to win the Serie A title in the 2020/21 season after  years of waiting.

Conte will be the latest premier league coach to be sacked after the exit of Crystal Palace’s Patrick Viera who left the club March 17.
